Recent amendments to the Education Administration Act came into force on January 6, 2025, enabling the creation of an online teacher registry and establishing the office of the Commissioner of Teacher Professional Conduct. One provision, competency standards, was deferred until September 2, 2025. This provision lays out the competence standards that a teacher must meet to hold a teaching certificate.
