Curling , is it just ice , brooms, and rocks ? Is it a by product of cold climate and the enjoyment of colder beverages ? Is it chess on ice requiring superior analytic abilities ? Yes, it is all of these and so many more intangibles and on the weekend of March 5 – 7 the strength and honour of the WTA was restored at the 48th Provincial Teachers Bonspiel held in Brandon . With superior sweeping and precise draw weight the little team that could , did. This team from Andrew Mynarski VC lead by their skip Darren “ dead eye ”Pritchard sailed through the other divisional opposition casting them aside with victory after victory. The end result had the team return to Winnipeg with the major trophy. Other members of this cohesive group included Steve “ ice man ” Zimberg, Jory “never say die ”Goodchild, Iyvan “elder statesman” Michalchyshyn and Gavin “ invited guest”……. KUDOS to these gentlemen on their exhibition of skill and sportsmanship and an even greater thank you to the WTA for their support . The team is available for exhibition games as well as autographs . They may be contacted at Andrew Mynarski VC where the trophy also resides.
