WSD Payroll department has clarified that:
- The retroactive pay will be deposited before the end of July on a separate deposit from the usual cheques.
- The retroactive pay will include back pay for Sept 2018-August 2021
- The new rates of pay will be applied September 2021 and going forward as per the new agreement.
The Winnipeg School Division provided the following information to WTA members on June 2, 2021.
The Winnipeg School Division and Winnipeg Teachers’ Association reached a new collective agreement on May 20, 2021.
The parties agreed to the new collective agreement for the following period July 1, 2018 to June 30, 2022 and the increases to salaries as per below:
July 1, 2018 – June 30, 2019 1.6% increase
July 1, 2019 – June 30, 2020 1.4% increase
July 1, 2020 – June 30, 2021 0.5% increase
July 1, 2021 – June 30, 2022 COLA*
*COLA is to be determined as follows: in January 2022, or as soon as possible thereafter, when the 12 month (January to December 2021) average annual Statistics Canada Consumer Price Index for Manitoba (All Items) change is made known, the increase will be applied retroactively to September 1, 2021.
The retroactive pay is from September 2018 to June 30, 2021 and the new rates are effective July 1, 2021. The retroactive pay for WTA members will be paid by the end of July 2021.
